Keeling Neely, Meredith

Name: Keeling Neely, Meredith

Title: Weston Agrifood Sales Program Advisory Board

Texas A&M Class: 2002

Inducted: 2025

Biography

Meredith was born and raised in Franklin, Texas. Although Meredith was not raised in an Aggie family, she took advantage of every opportunity while growing up to visit Texas A&M. From countless basketball and tennis camps to basketball and football games, living so close to College Station made Meredith fall in love with Texas A&M at an early age.  Growing up, Meredith=s family had a ranch outside of Marble Falls, Texas where they ran a cow/calf operation. She was an avid tennis player and rode horses competitively throughout her high school career.

As an Agribusiness major at Texas A&M University, Meredith quickly became involved in campus activities. She also enjoyed taking animal science classes to stay in touch with her ranching and rural roots.

After her graduation in 2002, Meredith briefly worked for ADP out of Houston, Texas.  With the help of her father, it did not take Meredith long to decide that she might be interested in pursuing a career in farm and ranch real estate.  She moved to Bryan, Texas, and began to work in real estate under a certified appraiser while pursuing her appraisal license.  She quickly became a general certified appraiser – the highest license awarded to an appraiser in the state of Texas.  In 2008, Meredith decided to shift her focus from appraisal to real estate.  Meredith moved to Franklin and began to work with her dad in his farm and ranch real estate office, D K Land Company.  Meredith always valued the flexibility and opportunities that being self-employed offered, and she began to envision a bright future for the business her father began.  She was inspired by the strong focus he put on building relationships and earning repeat business, a trait he passed onto Meredith.  In 2018, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presented itself to Meredith when she was offered the head brokerage position for an up-and-coming real estate group called Icon Global (IG) Real Estate.  IG specializes in selling large farm and ranch properties across Texas and New Mexico.  Best known for the famous sale of the Wagonner Ranch outside of Vernon, Texas, IG has sold numerous significant large plots of land all over the world.  Along with her duties as the head broker for the firm, Meredith manages the data room for current listings, aids in the mapping and research of properties, and consults with potential clients.

In 2024, Meredith was appointed to the inaugural Weston Agrifood Sales Program advisory board in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University to guide the program in better serving the stakeholders of the program. In addition, she regularly mentors young ladies who are trying to determine their future career upon graduating from Texas A&M University. Meredith is also an active member of the Texas A&M College of Agriculture Development Council (COADC), having served as both the Vice Chair and Chair.  In 2021, she funded her first endowed scholarship through the COADC.  The AHope@ Scholarship is intended to bring hope and joy to recipients through monetary aid.  Meredith chose this name for her scholarship as she credits her hope as being the reason she id where she is today.

Meredith has always made giving of her financial resources and her time a priority, and has dedicated many of her resources to organizations and groups about which she is passionate.  In Franklin, Meredith is a pillar of the community and leads a Bible study out of her real estate office. She has a heart for loving and helping children and is known for coordinating service projects to benefit local groups and children of Franklin and Robertson counties.  Meredith and her daughter, Tessa, love to ride horses, competitively and for pleasure, and enjoy going on adventures with one another.
